Mirjam Klann Thullesen UKCP registered
282-284 St Pauls Road
Everyone goes through times when they experience 'stuckness.' This can manifest itself in many ways, such as feelings of anxiety, relationship difficulties or low mood. I offer a warm, confidential and honest space to explore and work through these challenges. You may also have had experiences that are difficult to make sense of on your own. Therapy can offer a space to do so.
I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist with private practice in Islington, two minutes walk from Highbury and Islington Station.
Over the last decade I have worked in various settings including privately, for the NHS, and in the charity sector. I have trained as a Psychologist and alongside my Psychotherapeutic practice am also working towards a Doctorate in Psychology and Psychotherapy.
My approach is integrative, meaning that I draw on different therapeutic perspectives, paying attention to both the influence of your past and current circumstances. It also means I am flexible; I believe in us collaboratively developing an approach that best supports you as an individual. The relationship we establish is fundamental to the work we do and can offer important insights into other relationships in your life. I believe therapy can be transformational. Not only in terms of supporting behavioural changes, but also in developing a deeper insight into yourself and the relationships in your life.
I offer long and shorter-term counselling or psychotherapy. Our first consultation is an opportunity to discuss your concerns and to consider whether we would work well together. In shorter-term work we may set a certain number of sessions, and focus on a specific concern, or on unpacking general anxieties. In longer-term work we can work open-ended, or to a more defined contract, exploring underlying or deeper-rooted difficulties that prevent you from feeling fulfilled.
Skype or telephone sessions can also be arranged.
