About me

Life can be hard when you are experiencing difficulties or when you are trying to make sense of things.

You may be ready to explore some of your feelings and by looking at this website, you are taking your first step to being honest with yourself.

You may have suffered a type of loss, you may be experiencing a sense of loneliness, feeling anxious, have low self-esteem, be trying to come to terms with a diagnosis or illness, or you may have symptoms of depression. There may be other reasons for wanting to talk...

I am a Person Centred Counsellor, experienced in working with many different types of people and issues. I will welcome you to a safe and confidential space, where we can explore your issues together. Over the sessions we have together, you will find yourself in a better place and more able to move forward with your life. We can discover together any underlying problems behind the difficulties you are experiencing.

HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP...

You may have things going on in your life that make it difficult to speak with family, friends or others you would normally trust.

Life can be confusing at times, whether you are a woman, man or young person and dealing with a crisis can sometimes leave you feeling helpless, alone and afraid.

The counselling service at MindMove is completely confidential and offers YOU the time each week to look at the things in your life that are causing discomfort.

Having a dedicated space, away from everything or everyone you know, can allow you time to think and see things clearer.

Providing you with an environment that is comfortable, and safe where you are free to explore how you are feeling, can be so helpful in moving your mind forward, from that ‘stuck’ place you may find yourself in.

How do I know if I will get along with my counsellor?

I fully appreciate that speaking to a counsellor for the first time, can feel like a huge step. This is why I suggest we speak first on the telephone first. This way, we can be sure we feel comfortable to begin. Having this telephone conversation will allow me the opportunity to introduce myself and to give you an idea of how I can help. For you, it allows you the chance to briefly explain some of the things you are struggling with.

Our first session

In our first session, we will sign a counselling contract stating the time and day of the week we will meet. This doesn't mean you can't change the time or day, with 24 hours notice or more.

When you are comfortable we can begin the session and you can choose what you want to discuss first. You can take your time, going at your own pace. While you take your time to 'unravel' some of the things you are struggling to make sense of, I will be alongside you. I can help you explore some of your emotions and feelings.

If you decide, following our first session, that you don't wish to continue with our sessions, Then a phone call, text or email explaining this, is perfectly fine.
