Mariam Long,Registered MBACP, Specialising in Bereavement,Anxiety,Low Esteem
I am a registered, qualified Counsellor with experience of working across a broad range of issues including anxiety, stress, trauma, abuse, bereavement/grief, work related and marital issues. Understanding it can be lonely if the people around you can’t see or relate to what’s happening to you or how you are feeling, or, you can't say how you feel out loud. Life can feel overwhelmingly unbearable.
In my Private Practice from Waltham Cross, EN8, or at an office based in the Clinic of Osteopathy and Natural health in Winchmore Hill I offer one to one Counselling of either short term or long term, depending on your needs. The sessions are held in a safe, confidential non-judgmental space to support you on a journey to help you put troublesome issues behind you or help you to gain an understanding of what the issues are that are causing you unrest and working through them together.
Each of us brings our own unique situation and experience. I use an integrative approach to Counselling which means combining a number of key concepts to find a way of working that suits you best as an individual, tailoring our sessions to work in a way most appropriate for you at your pace, where we will explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, recognise patterns, working through unresolved issues or challenging life situations. Helping you to gain new perspectives to make any changes you feel are right for you to help you let go of old patterns, wounds, painful memories and unhelpful beliefs and be able to create something different.
As well as my private practice where my experience is varied I also work for an Occupational Health Company with counselling support to their employees. For the last 7 years I work as a Counsellor at a local cancer support center where I support clients and their families/carers who have been impacted by the effects of cancer or bereavement/loss. I find this fulfilling as I have a deep understanding from my own personal experience of how you can often feel isolated, or not always taken seriously as to the depth of the distress and pain felt in these circumstance?
I am happy to discuss any areas of your life that may be troubling you. If you have any queries please feel free to call me informally 07788 797319, or e.mail me, you are not under any obligation to make an appointment,
The initial assessment session is one hour and any further sessions are 50 minutes. The fees are £40.00 at Waltham Cross and or £50.00 at Winchmore Hill.
