About me

At this time, alongside my private practice, I am offering a low cost service to frontline workers.

I provide a safe and confidential space as well as years of experience to encourage exploration and facilitate recovery and growth. At the outset of psychotherapy an assessment is carried out with each individual where we decide on what basis you would like to proceed.

Over the years I have had success with people with a wide range of issues.

My background is in documentary film making, I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for 20 years.  I run therapeutic and study groups and supervise fellow professionals. As well as consulting for the NHS and lecturing.

Addiction of all kinds is an area that I have worked in for many years.

I have a particular interest in analysing the Dream.

COUPLE COUNSELLING, RELATIONSHIP, SEPARATION AND PARENTING

I enjoy the challenge of couple counselling. Relationships can be the most perplexing and frustrating, they can also be the most sublime. In partnership with a child and family psychotherapist - I hold a clinic specialising in these areas. The experience we have can determine the people we become and the relationships we have.

CAREER COUNSELLING

Our workplace can draw out other areas that need attention. I can help you to move from languishing to flourishing. Looking at your limiting behaviours and beliefs we can see where you might be holding yourself back and why and work towards you reaching your potential.

STUDY/BOOK GROUPS

I run groups for both qualified therapists and counsellors as well as those still training and/or in therapy.  These groups offer a supportive, creative and lively forum for learning.   Attendance of these groups can be counted as CPD (continuing professional development)

The groups meet regularly. New groups are planned. If you require further information please contact Louise.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training was an integrative modality with a transpersonal element, incorporating a broad range of theories of psychology, psychotherapy and models of development. I continue to study theories of psychology as well as spiritual disciplines, philosophy and anything else with the focus on their relevance to personal development.

Since completing my initial 5 year diploma training, I undertook a training in clinical supervision. I study yoga and tai chi which I continue to practice.
