Jill Peskin PGDip MBACP
Often we fall into patterns of behaviour without realising, but what we do notice is the struggles we are faced with, not really knowing why it is that we feel the way we do. My work with you would be to help you gain a greater understanding of yourself, to give you the chance to reflect on what may be going on for you and how things have come to be. Having a greater sense of self will allow you to take some control of your life and to bring some changes. If you’re reading this you are already contemplating counselling but the next step is finding the right counsellor for you.
It’s important that you feel able to begin this process with someone you feel comfortable with. I believe the quality of the relationship between a client and their counsellor is important to have an effective counselling experience. My approach stems from contemporary psychodynamic therapy, but I always adapt my way of working to what best meets your needs . My style is to work collaboratively with you to explore the difficulties that have brought you to counselling.
I work with individuals of any age from adolescence up, on a short or long-term basis. If you would like the opportunity to decide whether we could work together, we can arrange an initial meeting to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. If you decide counselling is not for you, there is no obligation to continue.
