About me

I know it can be difficult to take this first step to find a counsellor and begin to talk about what is happening in your life. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, anger issues, low self esteem, family problems or other difficulties. Whatever you are going may be stopping you from moving forward and enjoying your life.

I offer a welcoming, non judgemental environment where you can share what is happening in your life right now.  It is a confidential, safe space where we can begin to work together to help you to look at the difficult thoughts and emotions you are experiencing. As you talk through your thoughts and feelings you will begin to make sense of why you behave, think and respond as you do and therefore understand yourself more. It will help you gain more insight into how our past could be impacting you now and how the beliefs you have about yourself could be affecting different areas of your life.

This is your personal journey and unique to you, therefore it's important for you to go at your own pace as you start to process your thoughts and feelings and begin to make more sense of what is happening in your life. It can be a difficult journey but it is also an exciting one as it will lead you into a new and greater understanding of yourself. This then will enable you to bring about positive change in your life and move forward.

I am a member of the National Counselling Society and work within their professional guidelines therefore providing you with a safe and ethical service.

I offer face to face, telephone and online counselling and have daytime and evening appointments available. Please call or email to arrange an appointment.

I offer a one hour no obligation initial session at a reduced cost of £30. This is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to talk through how you are feeling and experience how I work. You can then decide if you feel I am the right counsellor for you.

I work in Spondon, Derby, where parking is available. If you'd like to find out more or make an appointment please contact me either on 07397 955661 or janetferguson57@gmail.com

If you would prefer me to contact you please send me a text or email with the best time to call. Your inquiry will be dealt with quickly and confidentially. If I am not available please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.

Testimonial-

"Janet provided such an encouraging non-judgemental, welcoming and open space for me to explore my life and my mind. I always left her counselling sessions feeling as though a weight had been lifted off my shoulders after we had identified and discussed issues that I have."

“Janet has been an excellent support throughout my counselling sessions. I will miss these greatly. Thank you for making a big difference.”

“Janet is a welcoming, friendly person who asks the questions that really begin to unpack those hidden issues that affect you. I found her counselling sessions an excellent escape and gave me the time for some much needed self-reflection and analysis. She got me through some tough times and saw me grow within myself. Thanks for everything but mostly for understanding.”
