Welcome. You have taken the difficult step towards self-healing, whatever your issue may be.
I offer integrative counselling which means I draw on techniques from other approaches to aid us in our work together.
This could be writing to the use of mood cards, as a tool to aid you safely and at your pace to connect you to emotions and difficult memories. Our work together will be collaborative, explorative and sometimes changeling. But always you are in the driving seat as this process is about you asking and answering your own questions and achieving your goals.
My degree in psychology has enabled me to better understand how memories are created, stored and retrieved and why sometimes you can forget a whole period in your life, to protect yourself from a painful moment. My trauma training forms the bases of my work with clients suffering with PTSD.
I have been a counsellor for over 10 years and have experience of working within the NHS as a sexual dysfunction counsellor. Within the charity sector working with clients of drug and alcohol misuse and their family’s. Within this setting I also worked with perpetrators of petty and serious crime. Working in a woman’s centre providing counselling for a wide range of issues from self –harm to domestic violence.
