Anna-Mae Silver - UKCP Registered Psychotherapist
Association For Group & Individual Psychotherapy
1 Fairbridge Road
At some point in your life you may have felt overwhelmed by what is happening to you, and possibly become anxious or depressed about this. With the help of family or friends, or by yourself, you may have tried to sort out your difficulties. Sometimes you will have succeeded and then can get on with your life. But there can remain a central issue you realise you have so far been unable to resolve.
The aim of the therapy is to help gain greater understanding of yourself and your life including the possibilities that are open to you. This aims to enable you to live life with more ease, confidence and fulfillment and to move forward.
People do not need to have a serious problem or difficulty to come for therapy. Some people come to assess where they are in their lives or to help them make a decision about the future. Others come in order to understand themselves better.
My aim is to create a safe environment or space where my clients can hear themselves and hopefully meet themselves, sometimes for the first time.
I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Counsellor and supervisor of 23 years. My focus is to help my clients unlock the blocks in their life through a therapeutic relationship with me.
I have a wealth of experience and some of these areas include:
- relationship issues
- traumatic experiences
- work related issues
- identity issues
- or blocks in their creative life.
- holocaust and second generation issues
I work with a diverse range of people in a safe, confidential space for you to explore whatever you wish without judgement.
What happens in your first session
Sessions last 50 minutes, and in the initial session, we can consider whether I am the right person for you. You can ask any questions you like - please call me/leave a message and I will come back to you as soon as possible.
If you decide you're happy to proceed, we can arrange ongoing sessions - this is normally weekly, but you can come more often if you feel you want to.
I work with people on a long-term basis, at least weekly but will also see people on a short-term basis. I mainly work in Golders Green but I also have a practice in Archway.
