About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

I offer embodied psychotherapy & counselling based on over 35 years experience.
My intention is to welcome you home to yourself!  I offer various tools, such as those of body psychotherapy ( using the body, trauma history and the wisdom found within us all), creative arts ( as a past play and arts therapist, using mediums such as drawing, art, visualisation, sandtray),  relational connection ( it is the relationship between us which is the glue that holds all therapy together), and the soul/shamanic aspects for all who wish this (as a lifetime meditator and soul explorer, I now link therapy and shamanism to offer mind, body and spirit support when needed).

I am available mainly online - slowly opening up to in person again -   for both short term and long term therapy -  my preference is to allow a longer journey of transformation to unfold.

I now only offer therapy to adults, with past history as therapist for children, young people and families.  I specialise in supporting those who regard themselves as highly sensitive and are the creatives and change makers of our world. Clients often find me when on a particular path of transition and change, ready to face the deeper wounds of life and awaken to a greater sense of fulfilment.

Issues I am highly experienced with include anxiety and depression; a history of trauma such as abuse survivors; creative blocks; climate anxiety; transitions such as bereavement and separation/divorce; neuro-diversity/ADHD issues;  inner child explorations;  and general lack of fulfilment.

I have particular expertise in : Bereavement, cancer care and loss as a previous co-ordinator and pioneer of services for children and families: Traumas such as those in the care system and abuse survivors :  Complex attachment needs: Inner child work and supporting complex family histories : Eco- anxiety and climate crises responses.

Its a tough time for many of us right now, so I appreciate that therapy and the deeper work of healing is particularly important.  Reaching out for therapy may be a daunting prospect. I invite you to take your time, read my profile and website, and take care in choosing your therapist.   I  offer an introductory meeting, to help you decide.

Within our sessions, you may experience talking and sharing, body based exercises,  the use of creative tools such as visualisation, art or sandtray (a creative therapy similar to externalising dreams), some mindfulness techniques and even silence  - we may find supportive tools for a new experience of life.  I am led always by your needs.  For those with a history of trauma, we establish trust and safety, before any deeper explorations are touched on.  Online therapy works equally as well for most people as meeting face to face and I have over ten years experience of this form of meeting. Our relationship is the key to your capacity to grow, and I will always offer respect, care and empathy for your journey.

I am informed by person centred theory, Jungian psychology, transpersonal psychology, attachment theory, family systems theory,  creative arts therapy,  body-centred psychotherapy, mindfulness, ecotherapy, and shamanism.

I am an experienced group facilitator and trainer , and offer regular training to qualified and experienced therapists and other professionals. I am also a busy supervisor for other therapists.

Please feel free to contact me and I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

BAPT
British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT)

The British Association of Play Therapists was founded in 1992 by a group of now respected practitioners who introduced and pioneered Play Therapy within Britain. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I welcome approaches from anyone who is interested in personal growth as part of the conscious awakening movements in men and women.  Sometimes therapy can simply be a place to explore growth with no known trauma or issue.  Sometimes it is time to open the door to potential.  Or a transition leads to a change of perspective.  Contact me if this is your interest. I can offer coaching/counselling in this area.
