I am an experienced counsellor who works with individuals and couples in Edinburgh and Penicuik.
I offer a confidential, safe space to work through your concerns and the feelings that come with them. Helping you to explore current experiences and also feelings from the past, finding new ways of understanding yourself and the people you have relationships with, working through the options available to you and the choices or changes you may want to make for the future.
My clients are aged 16+ and are from a diverse range of backgrounds, abilities, sexual orientation and gender identity. I have specific training in relationships, adult sexuality and family systems.
I will do my best to offer you a prompt and suitable appointment so that we can plan an initial meeting to explore your concerns and decide the best way to work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Certificate and Diploma in Relationship Counselling awarded by Relationships Scotland/Napier University. I have had Specialist Relationship and Couple Counselling training and I am experienced in working with individuals and couples (aged 16+) with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, grief, relationship issues, separation, divorce and personality disorders.
I use an integrative approach using relationship, psychodynamic, systemic and adult sexuality theories.
I am trained in Collaborative Practice and work as part of an interdisciplinary team with family lawyers and financial advisors to support separating couples with their communication and future planning during separation and divorce.Please see www.consensus-scotland.com for further information.
I regularly attend continuous professional development training courses and keep up-to-date with the latest research findings in a wide-range of fields which are relevant to enhancing my counselling practice.
I am a registered member of the BACP (The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I am bound by their Ethical Frameworks for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their complaints procedure.
I am a member of IACP (International Academy of Collaborative Professionals).
I have professional indemnity insurance with the Psychologists Protection Society.
