Alex Neumann (PGDip Psychotherapy,BSc Psychology, MBACP)
Challenging life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, work related stress. I offer a warm, relational and creative approach to counselling, psychotherapy and coaching for individuals and couples on a short-term or long-term basis in Central London W1 and East London E2.
In addition to working with adults of all ages, I also have several years experience of working with children and teenagers in various settings.
I have worked with young adults at the beginning/end of their University career, in particular around isses such as living abroad, stress, identity, self-esteem and self-development.
Previous to my training as a psychotherapist, I worked as an executive consultant, personal coach and business founder and owner, and I draw on these experiences in my therapy and coaching work today. I coach team leaders and entrepreneurs, start-up founders and teams interested in improving their working culture.
In therapy and counselling I work with individuals, couples and family members.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Metanoia Institute/Middlesex University), with over six years experience working with adults in private practice and within the NHS (IAPT), where I have performed the role of team leader for a team of up to 25 counsellors in training. I also have several years experience of working with children and teenagers in various settings.
My extensive 4 year training as a Gestalt psychotherapist at MSC level, as well as having completed various additional training courses in Systemic Constellations for teams/businesses and working systemically with couples and groups, enables me to work increasingly within companies as a coach and facilitatior for leaders and their teams.
Due to my varied work, training and interests, I have a solid overview of the different approaches in coaching, counselling and psychotherapy as well as other practices like mindfulness, body work and creative approaches, and a good network of colleagues and practitioners in various fields. This enables me to offer my clients a good broad overview and some helpful suggestions for next steps, referrals or self-help activities.

Ich biete Psychotherapie, Paartherapie und Coaching auch auf Deutsch an.
In addition to my regular therapy and counselling sessions, I offer "one session therapy" - a one-off session that can be in person or via video call.
In this in depth assessment and sign-posting session, we discuss your current situation in detail, help you get a better understanding of what the underlying issues might be, and then look at options for next steps for you. This may include seeing a counsellor/therapist, or other forms of classes, groups, exercises and self-support that might be suitable for you to try. This offer is meant for people who want some guidance regarding the options that are out there, referrals to trusted colleagues, or a self-help plan as a first step to get better before making a more long-term and costly commitment. I offer this while I dont have capacity to take on regular clients myself.
