Rosemary Elliott Registered M.B.A.C.P. Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor

East Riding of Yorkshire

Since qualifying 14 years ago, I have helped many individuals and couples cope with their stressful circumstances and turn their lives around. I have training and experience in many areas including anger management, anxiety, depression, affairs and betrayal, bereavement, domestic violence, separation and divorce, relationship problems, abuse, postnatal depression, serious assault and post traumatic stress disorder, self-harming, sex addiction. Any of these can affect us and spoil our lives. You may think there is no answer, but
Counselling from someone who is trained, will enable you to discover light at the end of the tunnel by finding a new path out of your difficulties. If you want freedom from fear that is immobilizing you or the memories that haunt you, I will give you strategies to overcome that sense of helplessness and help you sleep more soundly.
I have secluded, quiet and comfortable rooms in Brough and Hull, where you can relax to talk about what is troubling you and be empowered to make decisions which will alter the situation.
I offer short and long-term, face to face counselling according to the B.A.C.P code of ethics, of which I am a registered member.
I am a trained couples therapist. My approach is person-centred and integrative, which means we work on whatever you bring to the sessions and enable you both to move forward.
Our lives are full of change and usually we take these in our stride. However, you may think a situation or event overwhelmed you and you think you can't cope. The good news is, you can with the right help.
Are you experiencing day-to-day pressures, problems at work, redundancy, financial problems, difficult relationships? These can all cause stress and sometimes depression.
Do you feel anxious most of the time?
Are you having sleepless nights, or lost your appetite, can't concentrate having flashbacks from a traumatic experience in the past?
If you're losing self confidence, are walking on eggshells or being verbally or physically abused by your partner or a member of your family, you need help urgently.
There is hope if you turn to someone who is able to help you find a new way.
Have you been betrayed by someone you loved and trusted and are devastated and long for someone who listens and understands and will help you regain your self confidence and believe in yourself again?
Are you aware that you're not living up to your full potential at home or at work? Maybe you have come to a crossroads in life and have no idea which way to turn.
Has redundancy left you confused and reduced your self-confidence? If so, counselling will give you the opportunity to unpack those feelings and enable you to move forward.
Friends and family may want to help, but talking to a person who is trained, but not involved, is often more productive.
Counselling will enable you to focus on the strengths that have helped you survive so far and discover resources that you were unaware of, which will lead to a more satisfactory way of living.
Together we can find a new pathway, so you can move from a difficult, dark place to a brighter and more fulfilling future.
