Profile
I am a fully qualified counsellor with twelve years experience of helping many individuals and couples find a more fulfilling life. I have secluded, quiet and comfortable rooms in Brough and Hull, where you can relax to talk about what is troubling you.
I offer short and long-term, face to face counselling according to the B.A.C.P code of ethics, of which I am a registered member.
My approach is person-centred, integrative therapy. I incorporate other techniques to tailor therapy to client's needs. I have training and experience in many areas such as anger, postnatal depression, relationship problems, sexual abuse, serious assault and post traumatic stress disorder. All these can affect us and spoil our lives.
You may think there is no way out of the situation you find yourself in, but with counselling from someone who is trained, you will discover there is light at the end of the tunnel and find a new path out of your difficulties and freedom from fear that may be immobilizing you or the memories that haunt you.
Our lives are full of change and usually we take these in our stride. However, there may be times when situations or events overwhelm us and we can't cope.
Day-to-day pressures, problems at work, redundancy, financial problems, difficult relationships can all cause stress. These can cause sleepless nights, loss of appetite, lack of concentration and even flashbacks from a traumatic experience in the past. If this is happening to you, there is hope if you turn to someone who is able to help you turn your life around.
Maybe you have been betrayed by someone you loved and trusted and are upset and distraught and long for someone who listens and understands.
You may be aware that you're not living to your full potential at home or at work. Maybe you have come to a crossroads in life and have no idea which way to turn.
If redundancy has left you confused and reduced your self-confidence, counselling will give you the opportunity to unpack those feelings and enable you to move forward.
Friends and family may want to help, but talking to a person who is trained, but not involved, is more effective.
Counselling will enable you to focus on the strengths that have helped you survive so far and discover resources that you were unaware of, which will lead to a more satisfactory way of living.
Together we can find ways to make a difference, so you can move from a difficult, dark place to a brighter and more fulfilling future.

As a well qualified and experienced Supervisor I offer supervision for trainees (with concessions) and qualified counsellors.
My approach is person-centred, but my training and experience enable me to supervise those who practise an alternative model. We will work together to ensure the development of your counselling practice.
