Profile
I am an experienced counsellor with a established private counselling practice.
It can sometimes be difficult to start counselling. Some people may spend a long time thinking about whether to seek support, for others, a life crisis or bereavement might prompt them to consider counselling as a way forward. Whatever the reason for considering counselling, it is very important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor.
An initial meeting with a counsellor can be helpful in giving you the opportunity to think about whether they are going to be someone who you feel you can develop a rapport with. Feeling comfortable with a counsellor is really important in your therapy and can help you to gain understanding and insights from your counselling sessions.
The following gives a brief description of my professional experience, counselling approach and the location of my practice.
I qualified in 1999 and have worked as a counsellor for over 12 years both in private practice and within organisations offering specialist services. During this time, I have had experience of working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, abuse, bereavement, disability, depression, phobias, relationship breakdowns etc. I offer counselling for individual clients and couples.
Although, I originally trained as a Psychodynamic counsellor, I have developed my counselling work to include other counselling models, this is sometimes referred to as an Integrative counselling approach. Generally, I use a range of counselling approaches to best suit each individual client and I am able provide both short term and long term counselling.
My counselling practice is located in Brighton, both clinics are easily accessible by public transport and on street parking is also available the counselling rooms offer clients privacy in a comfortable setting.
I hope the information on this site will assist you in making a decision about counselling and finding a suitable counsellor.
