Counsellor Profile

I have an established practice in south London and I work to an integrative approach. This approach is client led in that it allows us to work together at your pace using different approaches to suit your needs and issues.

The foundation of my work is to listen to you and allow you to express yourself in a non judgemental environment. This helps you release any negative feelings and also helps us challenge together any unrealistic perceptions that may be in place.

Our work together is then developed further to provide you with a better understanding of yourself and your influences, from this you have the possibility to sense why you have found yourself in difficulty. This personal understanding will provide movement at a deeper level and encourage the change that you seek.

Working with a counsellor is a very personal experience and one of the major influences in the success or failure of the work is the interaction between client, counsellor and the environment. So if that works there is a reasonable chance that the work will be beneficial.

I therefore offer the first session to potential clients as an opportunity to talk with me to identify how I may help and to see if we can work together. There is the normal fee of course for this initial session, but there is no other commitment apart from that.

I am a member of the BACP and work to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My practice has been established here in south London for over seven years and I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues.

I also work within the counselling profession and am a committee member of the BACP South London. In this capacity I work to raise the profile and awareness of counselling and psychotherapy in the south London area.

Extra Information

I also work as a Life Coach and in this aspect of my practice I provide a solution focussed principle to my work. Here I work with my clients to help them achieve goals in order that they reach their full potential.
