Approachable and down to earth, I am a Relate qualified counsellor, working with couples and single people experiencing relationship issues. I work by developing my clients' self-reflection and understanding.

Experience tells me that difficulties within a relationship can be resolved. Clients come to me with very varied issues; most will have tried to work things out, and may have feelings of hopelessness about making changes. With my help you will have the opportunity to uncover the root causes of your problems, explore thoughts and feelings and learn new ways of talking openly about them. With new understanding and self-awareness comes the opportunity to change. You will also discover new ways of listening, and in turn of being listened to, leading to the closeness and commitment that we feel when we are truly understood, and able to be ourselves.

I was introduced to couples counselling twenty years ago when I went to Relate for relationship advice. I found the counselling experience life changing and gained new insight into relationships as well as the self-knowledge to shape and direct my own life

How I work:
Sessions last one hour, in the first session we will discuss the reasons you have come and develop a plan tailor made for you. My 17 years of experience mean I am able to pick from a whole range of skills and tools to work in a way that is particular to you and your circumstances. Testament to the success of this approach is the number of clients who come to me having had a recommendation from someone they know who has seen me in the past.

I work in the evenings and on a Friday morning in a private room in my home. I have parking and am usually able to offer an appointment within one week. I offer online face-to-face counselling via Skype for those who find travel prohibitive.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

In addition to my Relate training in Marital and Couple Counselling I continuously update and develop my skills and have training in range of disciplines including:

· Managing change
· Attachment Theory
· Schema therapy

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Councillors and Psychotherapists) and adhere to its code of practice.
