Counsellor Profile

I am a Relate trained counsellor, working with couples and single people looking for direction and understanding. I see my clients in a comfortable office in my home. I pride myself on being approachable and down to earth, offering help through self-reflection and understanding. I receive more than half my work through recommendations and receive very positive feedback from my clients about our sessions. I was introduced to counselling twenty years ago when I went to Relate. I found the counselling experience life changing and learned a new insight into relationships. A number of years later I started training with Relate and have never looked back. I work in the evenings and on a Friday morning and I am usually able to offer an appointment within one week.

I have a Relate Certificate in Marital & Couple Counselling (Theory & Practice) and I am currently training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at The Wimbledon Guild Counselling Service.

Experience tells me that many difficulties within a relationship can be resolved. Clients come to me with very varied issues, most will have tried to work things out, and may be having feelings of hopelessness about making changes. With my help you will have the opportunity to uncover the root of the difficulties, explore thoughts and feelings and to work out new ways of talking openly about them. With new understanding comes the opportunity to change. You will also discover ways of listening and in turn of being listened to. This leads to the closeness that we feel when we are truly understood, and able to be ourselves.

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to its code of practice.

I also work with broader concerns pleople my be having which can be inpacting on their relationships. I have experience and success with poeple wanting to loose weight, low self esteem and confidence. I have found that most issues that are worrying us will be affecting our relationships with others.
