About me
As a Psychotherapist who works with adults, I offer an honest and compassionate relationship, in which I hold no preconceptions or expectations of you. Through dialogue and exploration, I can support you to find new ways of thinking, feeling, and understanding yourself, which will enable you to manage the challenges you face.
My main psychotherapeutic approach is gestalt, which considers the mind and body together, and how the past impacts current experiences. I also draw on psychodynamic theory.
My therapy sessions are weekly, and I usually work with clients over a period of months or years. I work in-person from a therapy room in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield. I also work in-person from the Meridian Counselling Centre in Birmingham. For people who prefer, I offer remote working via the zoom online-video platform.
Training, qualifications & experience
My qualifications include an MSc, and an Advanced Diploma, both in Psychotherapy. I am a registered member of the UKCP and the BACP. I have regular clinical supervision with a leading expert in my field.
I have experience working with people who have been oppressed because of difference and diversity. I also have experience of working with people who have suffered loss, trauma (including historic trauma and abuse) and people who are currently experiencing anxiety and depression. My training has equipped me to support people through whatever life experiences they are faced with.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
If you would like to explore the possibility of psychotherapy with me, I can be contacted by telephone or email. If I don’t answer the telephone, please leave a message and I will get back to you within 24 hours. We can then arrange an initial assessment session which will be carried out over the telephone or by video link. In the assessment session I will ask you questions about your personal history, your current issues and expectations of therapy, and you will have chance to ask questions and gain an impression of me. We will then decide if we want to continue working together. The fee for the assessment session is also £50.
