About me

Hi… I’m Victoria, a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP. I really do understand how hard it can be to reach out for the first time – making those first steps in wanting to make changes. My aim is to make it as easy and as comfortable as possible for you.

Life has its ups and downs and at times it can feel overwhelming…you may feel that issues are starting to have a negative impact on your quality of life or your wellbeing. You might be feeling that something just isn’t working in your relationships. Perhaps you’ve reached a crossroads in life but are filled with uncertainty or confusion. There might be a feeling of wanting to make changes but just with no idea where to start.

It can be difficult to talk to friends and family as openly as we’d like to sometimes.  I offer you a safe space with no judgment so you can say things just as they are. Together, we can make sense of and unravel your thoughts, working towards a deeper understanding of yourself.

I am an integrative therapist meaning I can adapt the way I work with everyone – there is no one size fits all. The main therapeutic methods I use are Relational, Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis. I follow your lead to ensure we only ever work at a pace that is right for you.

Whilst I’d be honoured to support you in any issues at all you bring to therapy, I have a special interest in the following areas;

-          Making sense of your childhood or past experiences that may be impacting how much you are able to enjoy life now.

-          The parent – child relationship. This could be relating to you and your babies’ early experiences together, your relationship with your children or your relationship with your own parents.

-          Transitional periods in life which can bring uncertainty, questions around who we are and who we want to become (for example, becoming a new parent, mid-life, career changes).

Whatever the issue, the relationship I build with clients is always at the very heart of what I do. I truly believe that the warm, empathic, trusting relationship between therapist and client is the biggest catalyst for change. Therefore finding the right fit therapist for you is so important. I offer a free initial phone call to chat through what is going on for you and for you to ask as many questions as you need. I look forward to hearing from you!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
