About me
Having been a client myself in the past, I have a strong appreciation of how difficult and painful life can be at times and the benefits of being able to explore what is going on for you in a totally non-judgmental, deeply empathic and confidential space, which is for you and you alone. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I am qualified and experienced in working with a range of strategies, techniques and modalities, depending on your specific needs. The therapeutic relationship we will share is central to the work we will do together in order to help you explore and resolve your issues no matter what they may be or how they may present themselves in your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist with over 16 years experience. I strongly work within the ethics and boundaries of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy of which I am a registered member (Membership ID Number: 99780).
My Principal training quantifications are:
MEd - Masters in Educational Leadership - Creating a School Counselling Service & the implementation of a Whole School Approach to Mental Health & Well-being
BA Hons in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
Higher Professional Diploma in PCA Counselling
Diploma in Counselling Skills
Qualified teacher status, Department for Education 2012
NPQH - National Professional Qualification for Headship
In my experience one main aspect of Counselling that contributes hugely to it being a truly positive life changing endeavour is the fact that, as a client, you have the opportunity to be a part of a unique, unconditional, pure therapeutic relationship, free of the usual emotional transactions and pressures you may be experiencing in your everyday life.
As your therapist it will be my job to truly listen to you, and assist you in making some kind of sense out of the emotional distress you are experiencing. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about any difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate and best for you. Together we focus on you, and you obtaining self-insight.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Value for Money
From my first session with Tony I knew I'd found the right therapist. He made me feel so at ease and I felt so comfortable talking to him. I saw the signs that my weekly sessions with Tony we're helping me very early into my counselling. A year later and I feel like a totally different man to the one that first went to see Tony. I was in a dark place but now I can genuinely say I love life. For the first time in my life. I've unearthed a confidence that I never believed I could have. I will be forever greatful to Tony.

Tony is an extremely helpful, thoughtful and empathetic therapist. This was my first ever experience of talking therapy and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the process.
