About me

Hello, I am Tina and I understand how challenging life can be especially if we have others relying on us, be it family, friends or colleagues.

My previous experience of working in a highly pressurised corporate environment highlighted the unwanted behaviours we can develop, to cope with our day-to-day stresses.

Big life events can trigger changes to our relationships or career, leaving us feeling lost. Perhaps your past is still controlling you today and you want move forward, or maybe life hasn’t turned out the way you had hoped and you want to make positive changes. Sometimes we just lose ourselves and our direction resulting in depression, anger and loss of hope.

It can be difficult to share these feelings with family and friends - this is where I can offer you a warm, non-judgmental, safe space to explore and navigate any issues you are experiencing. Nothing is too small to bring, even traumatic or sensitive issues.

Together we can look at what is missing, this may involve exploring unprocessed wounds or looking at coping mechanisms which may hinder your ability to live fully. Recognising our own feelings, even uncomfortable ones allow us to be our authentic self and live a more fulfilled life.

My integrative approach is a combination of humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive therapies, which can be tailored to your needs. I also have specialist grief and loss training, as life can feel like a series of losses. However, I believe it is the relationship which has the most healing potential, as such we work collaboratively to reflect on the difficulties and emotions you may be experiencing, in a safe and confidential environment, to create an accepting, trusting relationship. Somewhere you can speak freely without fear of judgement, and I can learn what life is really like for you.

Together we can look at patterns or behaviours which are not working for you, with a view to empowering you to make your own changes.

I work with people from diverse backgrounds with a range of personal or professional issues. I offer both short- and long-term ongoing counselling, working in person on the Surrey-Berkshire border, online, or via telephone which offers the autonomy some clients find easier to share their experiences openly.  I also see clients nationwide and globally, allowing a hybrid of settings to suit you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
