About us
The Brixton Practice is a counselling and psychotherapy service situated in the heart of Brixton. We offer individual, couples, low-cost and family therapy. All practitioners, whilst varying widely in background, experience and training, work from one consistently supported research outcome:
IT IS THE QUALITY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE THERAPIST AND CLIENT THAT PREDICTS SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES
This aligns with the fundamental psychological principle:
AS HUMANS OUR MOST PRIMITIVE AND IMPORTANT UNIVERSAL NEED IS TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP
All our therapists offer individual therapy. Currently, most of our therapists offer face-to-face, whilst all offer online sessions. Some also offer sessions by phone.
A number of our therapists offer couple’s therapy and/or family therapy, with options for both online and face-to-face sessions available.
Our low-cost therapy service offers sessions with our student trainees at a significantly reduced price point.
Supervision, both face-to-face and online is offered. If you work as a trainee or qualified Counsellor or Psychotherapist, or work in related fields and are looking for clinical supervision, we have qualified supervisors available.
To make an enquiry, please head to the 'Contact Us' page of our website and complete the client screening form.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
