About me

I work in a person-centred way, meaning our sessions will focus on you - the unique, wonderful person you are. We'll work together to build a trusting relationship where you feel truly heard and understood. Alongside this, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your needs, including creative methods if you'd prefer to explore things beyond just talking.

I believe in the healing power of nature and its ability to enhance well-being. Research shows that having access to green spaces, can significantly speed up recovery in hospital environments. Inspired by this I work from a room with views of a beautiful garden.  I am also able to offer outdoor work seated next to a pond and waterfall in the grounds or walking in the forest.

Please reach out if you have any additional needs and I will do my best to tailor our environment and process to make it as accessible as possible. I can offer video introductions and information about the room and process if this is of help. I understand how daunting making this first step can feel so will do whatever I can to try and make it as painless as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in Psychology plus a level 4 Diploma in Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma for working with Children and Young people

I am currently studying for my Level 6 in Trauma Focused Therapy and my Level 6 Certificate in counselling Supervision

I have worked for Mind, Pegasus (Men's mental health charity) and Place2Be as a school counsellor. I now have my own private practice based in two locations around Farnham

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

From my counselling room in the centre of Farnham I offer person centred therapy. Your therapy will be as unique as you are and tailored to exactly what you want to work on. I can offer many creative opportunities to help you access things hidden just below the surface and try to understand your motivations and patterns of behaving. This room offers many opportunities to tailor lighting to any sensory preferences.

My room at Eden near Alice Holt offers opportunities for harnessing the power of nature in our work together. The room has a view of a wonderful garden and we can also work seated next to a beautiful pond. Being close to nature has scientifically been proven to help with regulation helping to mend trauma which is being held within our bodies. We can use conscious and unconscious methods to try and help bring you back to balance and harmony. The room is fully accessible with a wide doorway and ramped access.
