About me

Come as you are. We can start there.

Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you're struggling with something specific. Or perhaps you can't quite put your finger on it, but you know that something doesn't feel right.

You don't need to have all the answers before coming to therapy. You don't need to know exactly why you're struggling, and you don't need to be in crisis.

My own experience of therapy taught me the importance of being heard and understood without judgement. It showed me the difference it can make to have a space that's entirely yours, where you can explore what's going on at your own pace. That experience continues to shape the way I work today.

I don't believe people are broken and need fixing. I believe that life happens to us, and in response we adapt. We find ways to cope, protect ourselves and get through. Sometimes those ways of being help us, and sometimes they leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who we are.

I believe we're all made up of different experiences, relationships and parts of ourselves. Some parts are easy to access, while others may have been hidden away, forgotten, or pushed aside. Therapy can offer a space to get curious about those parts, make sense of your experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your story.

Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate and easy to talk to. Alongside empathy, I bring curiosity, creativity, humour and gentle challenge where it feels helpful. Most importantly, I aim to offer a space where you can show up exactly as you are

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, having completed a Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Counselling with Inter-Psyche, an NHS-linked counselling and psychotherapy training organisation.

My practice is informed by psychodynamic thinking, attachment theory and trauma-informed practice, with a particular interest in how our early experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others.

Alongside private practice, I have over three years' experience volunteering with Hospice in the Weald, supporting people receiving palliative care, alongside the carers, family members and friends who walk that journey with them. I have also supported those living with bereavement and loss. This experience has deepened my understanding of the many ways grief, love, change and uncertainty shape our lives, and the value of having a space where these experiences can be shared and explored.

As part of my clinical training and practice, I have worked with clients presenting with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, bereavement and life transitions.

Attachment has been a longstanding area of personal and professional interest, and I have undertaken extensive additional training in attachment, trauma and the therapeutic relationship over many years. I have also completed specialist training with Cruse Bereavement Support, the Samaritans and The Bowlby Centre.

I am committed to ongoing professional development, regular clinical supervision and reflective practice to ensure my work remains ethical, informed and responsive to the needs of my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I work relationally and integratively, adapting my approach to suit you as an individual rather than expecting you to fit a particular model of therapy. I believe that therapy is not something that is done to you, but something we engage in together.

The foundation of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to offer a warm, genuine and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

My work is informed by an understanding of attachment, trauma and the ways our early experiences can influence how we relate to ourselves, others and the world around us. Together, we may explore recurring patterns, relationships, beliefs and coping strategies, not to judge them, but to understand the role they have played in your life.

There is no agenda in our sessions. Whether you come with a clear goal, a specific difficulty, or simply a sense that something needs attention, we begin there. Therapy offers space to explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, developing greater self-awareness and understanding along the way.

Alongside warmth and compassion, I bring creativity, humour and gentle challenge where appropriate. My role is not to offer quick fixes, but to support you in making sense of your experiences, recognising your strengths, and developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

The process isn't always straightforward or linear. It can be messy, unexpected and, at times, challenging. But it can also be meaningful, transformative and deeply personal. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate that process, helping you make sense of what emerges and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become lost, forgotten or pushed aside along the way.
