About me

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist offering a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever may be troubling you. Reaching out for support can feel difficult, but counselling can provide the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings, gain clarity, and begin to move forward.

I offer an integrative approach to counselling, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic ideas and approaches to support you as an individual. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process, and I work collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, their experiences and the challenges they may be facing.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and attachment issues. I also have experience supporting individuals affected by addiction and recovery, as well as families impacted by addiction. My aim is to provide a safe and compassionate space where you feel heard, respected and supported.

Counselling can help you develop greater self-awareness, understand patterns in your life, and find new ways of coping with difficulties. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply feel overwhelmed and need someone to talk to, therapy can help you make sense of what is happening and move towards greater balance and wellbeing.

I offer both online counselling and face-to-face sessions in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Online therapy allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space, wherever you are in the UK.

If you are considering counselling, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation so we can briefly discuss what you are looking for and see if working together feels right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
