About me

Help with life's challenges
It can be difficult making the decision to come to counselling. Acknowledging that you need some help, because something feels wrong within you, or that life just feels too much right now, isn't easy, but it can be a first step toward healing, a better understanding, a new way of seeing things, or the beginning of a change. Counselling can help when you've exhausted your own resources to work things out or cope, or when you feel that what is troubling you is too much for people who might normally support you. If you feel like just don't know what to do next, or that you just can't move to where you want to be, perhaps I can help.

About me
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work online, as this allows me to work with people across the UK. I work with people of different ages and backgrounds, to help with issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, work stress, bereavement and more. I also continue to volunteer some time at a local charity-supported counselling service seeing clients in my local area.

Working together
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I'll be your non-judgemental companion who will work to understand what you are struggling with from your point of view. I'm not offering ready-made solutions, but confidential and supportive help to aid you in connecting with perhaps unidentified emotions, gaining new perspectives on difficulties and rediscovering your own abilities. Together, we'll create ways to help you cope and see ways to grow, ways that you can continue to develop when you finish with counselling, as you take steps towards where you want to be and who you want to be.

If you think working collaboratively with a counsellor to rediscover your own strengths could be helpful to you, then please use the contact details here to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
