About me
Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm a warm and compassionate Integrative psychotherapist who offers a non-judgemental, kind space where you can share what's on your mind and truly feel listened to and understood. Having a safe and supportive place to explore your feelings and make sense of what you need in your relationships, or life in general, can be profoundly healing- especially if your experiences have left you feeling unseen, alone, angry, or misunderstood.
I listen with care and curiosity to patiently understand what has brought you to therapy, tailoring sessions to match your individual needs. With a gentle and honest approach, I support you to explore your experiences and feelings in a manageable way, helping you move forward and connect with what is important to you.
Whatever brings you to therapy, we can take the time to understand it together, at a pace that is right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an assessor at Leicester Counselling Centre and a registered member of BACP, having completed a Level 7 Master's in Integrative Psychotherapy with Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. Part of my training focused on how our past relationships, society, and cultural factors can affect our present relationships, including how we relate to ourselves. Therapy can be an empowering place to discover what you need from a relationship or situation, and can open up more choices around how you want to live your life.
I have experience of working with a range of issues and therapy models. Most recently, I completed an intensive program in Internal Family Systems (IFS) with Frank Anderson, and have an ADHD Coach certificate. I have further training in a number of areas including: trauma-informed practice, EFT tapping, anxiety, inner child work, neuro-affirming practice, sexuality, understanding addictions, sexual abuse, sand tray work and other creative approaches.
I have over 20 years of experience teaching & leading in schools, and a SEN specialism, so naturally advocate for young people and their families, as well as those working in education. I'm neurodivergent myself and find that my lived experience of ADHD helps me to provide a safe, inclusive space where people feel free to be themselves.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Finding the right therapist for you is really important-we're all so different and will need different things from a therapist. It can be useful to have an initial consultation with a few therapists to help you decide who you feel most at ease with. Be choosy-the right one for you is out there!
I work either in-person from my therapy space in Barrow upon Soar or online via Teams. It's important to me that clients feel welcomed and comfortable, and have set up my therapy room with this in mind.
If you’d like to arrange a free phone/online call (up to 20 minutes) to briefly explore what you’re looking for from therapy and to see how we might work together, please get in touch via phone or email. For phone, it's best to text or leave me a voicemail (as I may be in a session or unable to answer). I do my best to respond to enquiries within 48 hours.
My website also has a contact form if it feels easier to connect in this way: www.sarahnashtherapy.com
I look forward to welcoming you soon!
