About me

The very warmest of welcomes.

Together we can work to understand and overcome your challenges. I believe in empowering my clients, helping them to grow, thrive and live the life they dream of free from current issues, past trauma and negative emotions such as anxiety, fear, anger, pain or depression - free from negative behaviours and situations.

Working together I will help you see a way through, finding answers and also the strength within yourself, to make the changes you want to and to live the life you want, free of the things that have been causing you pain.

During our sessions you will find a comfortable space which feels
like a retreat away from the outside world, a place of mental peace and calm where you can work through your problems, a safe haven away from the storm where you can discuss and work through whatever you need to without being told what you should or shouldn’t say, what you should or shouldn’t do or what you should or shouldn’t feel.

I offer you the chance to be truly seen, heard and valued giving you the freedom and time in a truly accepting and non-judgemental space where you can be who you need to be, able to explore and express what you need to free of guilt or shame.

No matter how big, confusing, embarrassing or frightening the problem feels I am here to help, offering you the opportunity to explore your emotions, behaviours and challenges while being compassionately supported and completely validated.

Depending on your needs, I work by looking at how issues in the present may be causing you pain, and work with you to overcome these or by looking at how the past impacts who you are today, and may be causing you problems.  By gently exploring your past when you feel ready to, we can recognise patterns and how the past is impacting you now, in the present.  I will help you to recognise how you can make the changes you want to, find the confidence within yourself and your world to be who you want to be, and find hope for the future.  Even when it feels like hope has gone, I will shine that light in the darkness and together we will find your way forwards. Sometimes we feel like we just can’t understand why we feel a certain way or behave in a certain way, especially when we recognise the way we react or behave isn’t healthy for us or others around us, together we can work together to find those reasons and help you overcome them.

I offer counselling, psychotherapy and coaching.  You may seek coaching for various reasons, such as improving your personal or professional development, dealing with stress or anxiety, overcoming challenges, or finding your direction in life. I offer a fresh, informed perspective on the problems that you may face, and help you identify and break negative patterns that hinder your success. Coaching can also help you set your own priorities, achieve your goals, and maintain a better work-life balance.  Coaching can be worked with as a sole approach or incorporated with counselling and psychotherapy.

I work with young people from 14 years upwards, adults, seniors and couples.  I am passionate about supporting all age groups.

I have a strong interest in neurodiversity and supporting clients pre, during and post diagnosis including emotional support and coping strategies.

About Me

I am a qualified counsellor with extensive experience helping young people and adults navigate a wide range of life’s challenges. Here’s a closer look at my background and approach:

Therapeutic Approach: I utilise a person-centred foundation, incorporating elements of gestalt therapy, transactional analysis CBT and psychodynamic approaches to create a personalised experience for each client.

Experience: I have a wealth of experience supporting individuals from all walks of life. I draw on my work with people from diverse backgrounds and my own personal experiences to develop a deep understanding of the challenges my clients face. This allows me to provide a unique and empathetic perspective, regardless of your situation.

Empathy and Acceptance: By drawing on my own life experiences, I foster a space of understanding and acceptance. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship where my clients feel safe to be themselves and explore their vulnerabilities.

Extensive Experience, Tailored Support: I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges, both locally and nationally.

Through my own life experiences, I have developed a deep well of empathy and understanding. This allows me to provide non-judgemental care and support to clients facing challenges in their life including self-image, relationships, disordered eating and well-being.

I create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their vulnerabilities freely, free from shame or guilt.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
