About me

The very warmest of welcomes.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in helping my
clients overcome negative emotions and situations such as anxiety, depression, parenting and relationship issues, pre and post natal issues, trauma (including sexual, childhood and domestic abuse), life challenges, bereavement, career issues, chronic health conditions, poor self image and unhealthy coping behaviour.

No matter how big the problem feels I am here to help, offering you a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your emotions, behaviours and challenges while being compassionately supported and completely accepted.  I offer you the chance to be truly seen, heard and valued giving you the time and space where you can be who you need to be, able to explore and express what you need to free of guilt or shame.

Together we can work to understand and overcome your challenges. Anything is possible. You are not alone. I believe in empowering my clients, helping them to grow, thrive and live the life they dream of free from negative emotions such as anxiety, fear,  pain or depression. Free from negative behaviours and situations.  Working together I will help you see a way through finding the strength within yourself to make the changes you want to and to live the life you want, free of the things that have been causing you pain. Together we will find your emotional freedom.

Together we will find hope and help you move forward on your journey freeing yourself from past trauma, negative emotions and situations.

I have helped many clients overcome issues no matter how large the challenge may seem, sometimes it is a build-up of those small things that hurt us the most or sometimes the challenge feels like the hugest of mountains we don’t ever dream we could conquer, no matter the size, I am here to help you.

About Me

I am a qualified counsellor with extensive experience helping young people and adults navigate a wide range of life’s challenges. Here’s a closer look at my background and approach:

Therapeutic Approach: I utilise a person-centred foundation, incorporating elements of gestalt therapy, transactional analysis CBT and psychodynamic approaches to create a personalised experience for each client.

Experience: I have a wealth of experience supporting individuals from all walks of life. I draw on my work with people from diverse backgrounds and my own personal experiences to develop a deep understanding of the challenges my clients face. This allows me to provide a unique and empathetic perspective, regardless of your situation.

Empathy and Acceptance: By drawing on my own life experiences, I foster a space of understanding and acceptance. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship where my clients feel safe to be themselves and explore their vulnerabilities.

Extensive Experience, Tailored Support: I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges, both locally and nationally.

I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges. I have worked locally with many clients and recently completed work and training within the area of grief counselling to those facing pre- and post-bereavement, and nationally, I have worked with survivors of trauma and sexual abuse, both within families and from external circumstances. Some of these adults have also experienced domestic violence.

I have helped many clients overcome issues no matter how large or small the challenge may seem. Additionally, through my current role, my experience extends to supporting veterinary professionals. I have trained with the Blue Cross, offering guidance to those who have lost beloved pets. My work within the veterinary industry provides me with firsthand insight into the unique pressures faced by veterinary staff, including burnout, new graduate stress, and the challenges experienced by seasoned professionals.

I have a passion for helping clients with chronic health conditions especially those with diabetes and a strong interest in eating disorders.

Through my own life experiences, I have developed a deep well of empathy and understanding. This allows me to provide non-judgemental care and support to clients facing challenges in their life including self-image, relationships, disordered eating and well-being.

I create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their vulnerabilities freely, free from shame or guilt.

My Philosophy

I believe that healing and hope are possible for everyone, regardless of background or experience.

I work inclusively, recognising and accepting each client as an individual; their own expert with unique needs and perspectives. I believe that by truly listening to my clients and supporting them I can offer understanding and acceptance, empowering my clients to flourish; to become the people they want to be and choose the life they want to live.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
