About me
Hello and welcome,
Please don't struggle on alone .
By taking the time to stop and read this, you have taken the first step to facilitate the change you want in your life .
Maybe the idea of talking to a stranger makes you feel anxious and nervous, wondering what to expect from counselling and asking how it will help? These are very normal concerns.
One of the most important aspects in the counselling work is the strength of the relationship between you and me. I recognise, and respect your commitment to your journey and promise that during our sessions I will be by your side and together we can face these worries and step by step you will find the tools to reconnect with yourself.
Let me introduce myself....
My name is Sallyanne, I am a registered counsellor with the BACP. My approach is person centred. This approach enables us to ensure that your sessions are as individual as you are and are planned to best meet your needs, to help you to feel comfortable and safe.
I work closely with adults living with stress, anxiety, depression and chronic pain, and I have experience of working with individuals of different ages and backgrounds.
I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling life, and I am committed to helping you on that journey. During our sessions, I will offer you a safe, non-judgemental confidential supportive space providing you the environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions.
After your initial enquiry I'll message you back to the contact details you provide and together we will choose a mutually convenient time to have an initial free no obligation 30 minute telephone consultation. This provides a chance for us to get to know each other, for you to ask any questions you may have, and to explore if this feels right for you.
I am able to offer sessions for early evenings, weekdays, and Saturday mornings .
I understand that face to face sessions are not an option for everyone and so I also offer sessions on the telephone or online..
Following on if you wish to proceed, our weekly sessions last 50 minutes.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I have experience working with young people (16 +) and adults.
I have experience supporting people who are living with depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, chronic pain and trauma along with many other issues.
At this moment you may not be able to name all that you are feeling, but you're aware of how this is impacting on your daily life and despite your best efforts, the feelings just wont go away. In a confidential safe space you can start to unravel what is going on for you and begin to connect to yourself again.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
I am registered with the BACP and hold a level 4 qualification in integrative counselling.
Many people may feel that if they stopped and took time for themselves, they wouldn't have the energy to start again.
That is why allowing the time to give yourself some self care and space to process your emotions is so important and it is what counselling can offer you.
There is no time limit on a persons counselling journey, the same way as sessions can be face to face, online or on the phone, all our sessions will be based upon your needs ensuring that you feel safe. Counselling is unique to every individual however that may look.
Sessions are held in a private secluded garden cabin which offers a calm, safe environment.
