About me
By taking the time to stop and read this and deciding to seek counselling you have taken the first step to facilitate change. Maybe the idea of talking to a stranger makes you feel anxious and nervous, wondering what to expect from counselling and asking how it will help? One of the most important aspects in the counselling work is the strength of the relationship between you and me. I recognise, and respect your commitment to your journey and promise that during our sessions I will be by your side and together we can face these worries and step by step you will find the tools to reconnect with yourself and experience the power of being heard and understood.
Let me introduce myself....
My name is Sallyanne, I am a registered counsellor with the BACP. My approach is person centred enabling us to individualise our sessions, to ensure that they are best meeting your needs. I specialise in anxiety, depression and palliative care and I have experience of working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling life, and I am committed to helping you on that journey. During our sessions, I will offer you a safe, non-judgemental confidential supportive space providing you the environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions.
Please don’t struggle alone. I offer a free no obligation 30 minute telephone consultation, a chance to get to know each other and explore how this feels for you.
I am able to offer face to face counselling for weekend and weekday appointments as well as telephone or online appointments
Following on if you wish to proceed, our weekly sessions last 50 minutes.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
I am registered with the BACP and hold a level 4 qualification in integrative counselling. I offer an Employment Assistance Program (EAP) which is a work based program particularly aimed at supporting carers and support staff who are often the unsung heroes and who may feel that if they stopped and took time for themselves, they wouldn't have the energy to start again.
The staff that worked tirelessly through Covid, finding themselves in situations they could never have known they would have to face.
If you are a carer, self-care and time to process your emotions is what counselling can offer you.
It isn't necessary to access me through EAP, this is a service I offer to you the individual.
