About me
Hi. I'm Robert, a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor based in Paddock Wood, Kent.
I work with adults, children and young people using a warm, relational, and integrative approach. My foundation is in person-centred therapy, which means you are always at the heart of the work we do together.
I am particularly passionate about working "at both ends of life", namely childhood and bereavement. I have extensive experience working in a counselling setting at the Hospice in the Weald in Kent and also in both mainstream and Alternative Provision school settings.
Counselling in Kent & Online
I offer counselling in Kent for adults and children, including support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. This includes therapy for anxiety near me, child counselling in Kent, and online counselling in the UK for those who prefer to access therapy remotely. Sessions are available in person or online, depending on what feels most supportive and accessible for you.
For adults, counselling provides a calm, confidential space to explore emotions, challenges, and life transitions at your own pace.
With children and young people, I offer a flexible approach that can include creative work, play-based methods, drawing, storytelling, and gentle exploration suited to their developmental needs.
Specialist Areas I Commonly Work With
I also specialise in counselling for bereavement, grief and loss, supporting people through the impact of death, separation, and significant life changes. My work includes therapy around childhood trauma, emotional neglect, and long-standing patterns that affect confidence, relationships, and self-worth. Many clients come to counselling for support with low self-esteem, shame, anxiety, or a sense of feeling “not good enough”. I work gently and collaboratively, helping you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and build emotional resilience in a way that feels safe and manageable.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP.
I also hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS).
My aim is to offer a compassionate, ethical and grounded space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to create the meaningful changes that you're looking for in your life.
Please note that I aim to reply to all enquiries within 24 hours. (If you haven't seen my reply by that time, please do check your spam folder.)

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
