About me
You don’t have to have it all worked out. Even the subtlest feeling that something isn’t right is a great starting point.
You might feel lonely, anxious or depressed. Isolated or stuck in repeating patterns that leave you frustrated and disconnected. For many of us, that shame wizard can sneak in just when you don't need or want it.
My name is Richard, but people call me Dickie. I know how hard it can be to find spaces where you can bring all of you without fear of judgment or that internal voice grabbing the megaphone. You might be questioning a lot or a little, your identity, navigating your neurodiversity or struggling with intimacy. All of these and more can feel disconnecting and isolating, but things can and do change.
My practice offers a warm, non-judgemental space where every part of you is welcome, from the depressed to the bereft, and even that amplified inner voice. I work integratively and relationally, with a focus on how each part of us is formed and its environment. I draw on psychodynamic, attachment theory, existentialism, person-centred, CBT, gestalt, and somatic approaches, tailoring therapy to meet your needs.
I see clients online, with flexibility for shift workers, and in person with limited availability. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening for you, gently untangle old patterns, and find new ways of relating to yourself and others. With an initial call and consultation, we can see if it feels like a good fit for both of us.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP-registered integrative therapist/counsellor, trained at the Minster Centre, one of Europe’s leading institutions for Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I’ve worked across numerous services and private practice, from East to North West London, and online. These have been in a range of settings, some with complex presentations and others focusing on cultural, sexuality, family issues, low confidence, diversity, identity and gender, etc.
I like to see the client from where they arrive and begin to make sense of their world. I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach, hence the extensive integrative training. I use a multitude of different theories, including Psychodynamic, Existential, Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Humanistic, and somatic theories, to support my client's journey.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
