About us
Relationship and Family Therapy (RAFT) Ltd provides high-quality, affordable counselling for individuals, couples, children, young people, and families.
Specialising in relationships, RAFT has supported people in relationship distress for decades across Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch. RAFT provide high quality counselling for all shapes and sizes of relationships.
RAFT offers systemic family counselling, individual adult counselling, and counselling for children and young people from ages 5 and above.
Family coaching and parenting support are also available for parents of children with SEND and for some families supported by the Local Authority.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Our Relationship Counsellors are trained to Level 5 or above, with some qualified to Master's or Doctorate level.
- Our Family Counsellors are qualified individual therapists who complete further training (Level 5, equivalent or above) in systemic family therapy.
- Our Children and Young People's Counsellors hold a Diploma in adult counselling with an additional qualification (Level 5 or equivalent) in working with their specified age group.
- Our Mediators are Members of the College of Mediators

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

It costs us £70 per session to deliver our specialist counselling. Subsidies are available for low-income households. Please contact our friendly team for further details.

Limited part-funded and funded services are available to low-income clients, subject to availability.
Our charity is committed to continually fundraising to improve access to counselling and coaching.
