Accredited Counsellor, Psychodynamic and CBT therapist

About me

Hello, my name is Paul. I am a highly experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and have worked both privately and in the NHS.

Is life’s journey becoming overwhelming?  Do you need help to move forward or to consider an alternative approach but are unsure where to begin?  I am here to help.  Alongside warmth and compassion, I use a wide range of therapeutic approaches to tailor our sessions specifically to your needs.  Together we will work on ways forward and allow you the space to heal and grow.  I have supported people with many different issues from anxiety to PTSD.

When we meet, you can feel relaxed and supported knowing that everything we discuss will be confidential.  The time is yours to discuss whatever is on your mind.  Don’t worry if you feel like you don’t know where to start, we can work it all out together, at a pace that meets your needs and rebuilds your confidence and sense of wellbeing.

We can work together to develop ways forward and effective coping strategies for:

  • Anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem or overthinking
  • Family and work relationships
  • Life changes, loss of identity, spirituality or a sense of purpose
  • PTSD, trauma, crisis, burnout and working out how to let go
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • And much more….

Give yourself the space you need and reach out for an initial free consultation today.  I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
