About me

Hello and welcome to my page.

I am an accredited therapist with BACP and I have been counselling for the last 7 years. During that time, I have worked with  young people and adults experiencing  high anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma and relationship issues

Taking the first step to contact a counsellor can be the most difficult one but also it can be a positive one towards helping yourself at a difficult time in your life.

My Approach to Counselling

As an integrative therapist I use mixed approaches that I shape to suit your needs.

It may be that you are struggling with personal issues and feel alone with them. It can make a big difference to speak about these in confidence to another person. To help you do so, I  offer a warm and welcoming presence so you feel at ease. I listen to your experiences without any judgement, so that I can get to know all about you. I believe that by helping you feel safe to say anything and everything, you can talk freely about your worries and anything on your mind. I want you to feel heard and understood, because I believe that with this trust  it is possible to change the way you feel about yourself and your relationships.

When you are ready, we can reflect on some of  your past experiences so that I can learn more about you. I can help you manage feelings that may arise so that you can gain a better understanding of how they continue to affect you. In a supportive way, it becomes possible for me to help you unpick and think more clearly about the personal issues that brought you to therapy. With new insights you may be able to make  positive changes in your life,  cope more effectively and  move forward.

What to do next

If you decide it could be time for you to have therapy, then give me a call [07988 330485] and I will offer you a time [Free] to  talk through your issues and we can discuss whether I may be able to help. There is no obligation to go further and equally we can do so if you wish to begin therapy with me.

I offer individual counselling for adults and young people on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, using video and phone.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
