About me

Hello, I'm Patsy and welcome to my page.

I am an accredited therapist with BACP and I have been counselling for the last 7 years. During that time, I have worked with young people and adults experiencing high anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma and relationship issues.

I have worked in educational institutions as a counsellor and for 2 registered charities which has given me experience of clients from very different backgrounds and cultures.

My Approach to Counselling

As an integrative therapist I use mixed approaches that I shape to suit your needs.

It may be that you are struggling with personal issues and feel alone with them. It can make a big difference to speak about these in confidence to another person. To help you do so, I  offer a warm and welcoming presence so you feel at ease. to say anything and everything.  I want you to feel heard and understood, so that you can express your thoughts and feelings, manage them and make positive to changes to the way you feel about yourself and your relationships.

What to do next

Email or call me so  we can  talk about what you want from counselling and whether I can be of help.

If you decide you would like to try a  therapy session then we can set up another meeting and begin working together.

I offer individual counselling for adults and young people on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday by video or phone.

Whilst my sessions cost £50 individually, I offer a discount of £10 per session if 6 are booked in a block.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
