About me

Find out a  little more about how I work..

Whatever is on your mind, it's important to me that you feel comfortable enough to speak openly about it. You don't need to worry about getting it right or coming across in a certain way - there is no such thing. Just bring yourself and whatever is on your mind.

We will work in a way that suits you, at your pace and I will do my best  to help you feel at ease, heard and supported.

Am I the therapist for you?

It may help you to know that I have experience of working with clients in the following areas:

Family Relationships

Past and present family relationships can be difficult and stressful. You may have confusing feelings about family members that make you angry, worried, hurt, or unsure about what to do.

I offer a space where you can speak openly about all that is going on in your personal life with time to think about what you might want to do about it.

Anxiety

Does your anxiety feel overwhelming at times? Maybe you experience thoughts, feelings and physical sensations that feel frightening. Anxiety can feel like you never get a break.

You can tell me about all the ways anxiety is affecting your life, and together we can work out what might help.

Trauma

Have you had trauma that leaves you feeling stuck in the past?  Memories, emotions or reactions may keep recurring without warning and you feel overwhelmed. Perhaps you don't feel yourself any more.

I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can explore your past experiences and how they are affecting you. I will work  at a pace that feels right and safe for you.

And a  little more about me...

I am a BACP accredited therapist with 10 years' experience.  I draw on different approaches which I tailor to your individual needs.

I offer a  free initial phone chat about what brings you to therapy and whether I can help. But  most importantly you will find out how you feel talking to me.

Give me a call /text on  07585020759  or email [see above].

If its a case of  'Yes I feel at ease talking to  Patsy', then we can arrange our first session together and go from there.

I offer both online and face-to-face therapy depending on what will be most suitable for you,

Patsy

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
