About me
Hi, I am a Counsellor & Psychotherapist, I founded Enestee Mental Wellbeing Ltd, a thriving counselling and wellbeing consultancy based in the grounds of Greenfield Valley Heritage Park in North Wales. I provide in-person, video and telephone therapy sessions.
You don’t have to face things alone.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, burnout, stress, or simply feeling lost and overwhelmed, support is available—and it can make all the difference. Life doesn’t always go to plan, and sometimes the weight we carry becomes too heavy to manage by ourselves. Reaching out is a brave and powerful first step toward feeling better.
I specialise in helping people who feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or life’s challenges to find calm, clarity, and a renewed sense of control. My approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to your needs—so you can move forward with confidence and feel more like yourself again.
As well as my own private counselling practice (www.enestee.uk) I also provide in-school counselling to High School and 6th Form students and I am a Specialist Mentor for University students who have mental health challenges.
At Enestee Mental Health Solutions, I offer a calm, confidential, and compassionate space where you can talk freely, without judgement. Together, we can work through whatever’s troubling you—whether it’s something recent or something that’s been with you for a long time. I apply different therapy methods depending on your needs, all are science-based approaches that are tailored to your unique needs, helping you to better understand yourself, build resilience, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
You deserve support, and you deserve to feel well. If you’re ready to take that first step or even just curious about what counselling might involve, get in touch. I’m here to listen, and I’m here to help.

How Nigel Works
Nigel Skinner helps clients to understand the physical and psychological processes which impact how and why we behave certain ways. Understanding how our mind affects our body can give clients clarity and awareness and ultimately the ability to control behaviours.
Nigel is trained in several different therapeutic approaches which allows him to take an integrative therapeutic approach, grounded in Person-Centred Theory (PCT). Don't worry, that's just a fancy way of saying that I can use a mix of different therapy techniques, but the foundation of my approach is Person-Centred Theory. This theory guides the therapist to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment, allowing the client to lead the conversation and find their own solutions. Person-centred therapists, consider that people have an inherent ability to grow and improve when they are in a positive and accepting environment.
When a therapist uses an "integrative approach," it means they have been trained in several psychological therapeutic approaches and they might borrow methods from different types of therapy, like cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and others, but they always focus on the core principles of Person-Centred Theory, which are:
- empathy,
- unconditional positive regard,
- and genuineness with the client.
This means the therapist respects and trusts the client's ability to find their own path to healing while also using other helpful tools to support them.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
