MA/MBACP

About me

I am an integrative psychotherapist and registered member of the BACP. My work is grounded in evidence‑based approaches and an understanding of neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to adapt, change, and form new pathways. Many patterns that cause difficulty in adulthood were originally developed as survival strategies, often in childhood or during challenging life experiences. While these responses may have protected someone at the time, they can become limiting or distressing later in life. Therapy provides the opportunity to recognise these “default settings” and begin creating healthier, more supportive pathways through awareness, emotional regulation, and consistent practice.

The relationship you have with yourself is the one constant throughout your life—you are the one person who is with you every day. Taking the time to truly get to know yourself with compassion, can be one of the most valuable investments you make.

I offer a confidential and supportive space for individuals experiencing emotional, relational, and psychological challenges, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, neurodiversity, hormonal changes, and complex mental health presentations. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s needs.

I have a particular interest in relationship issues, attachment patterns, and how early experiences influence current behaviour and emotional well-being. I also have experience working with clients referred through NHS services, including those who have experienced childhood trauma or sexual abuse.

In recent times, I have developed a strong interest and growing expertise in ADHD, particularly how it presents in girls and women. I support clients in understanding how ADHD affects emotional regulation and daily functioning and help them develop practical strategies to manage these challenges. ADHD can show up differently in the genders -  females often involves internalised symptoms such as emotional dysregulation and high masking. Masking can contribute to anxiety, cognitive overload, overthinking, daydreaming, and shutdown. These subtler presentations are frequently overlooked, leading to late diagnosis.

I offer a free 15‑minute introductory call. You can contact me directly via the ‘Email Me’ button at the top of the page or by phone. If I am unable to answer, please leave a message and I will respond within 24 hours.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’ve worked with a wide range of organisations, supporting people with everyday challenges leading to stress and burnout as well as more complex  mental health, emotional or neuro-diverse needs. Whether someone is feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed - whatever the cause -  I offer a safe and supportive space to explore what’s going on and  support you in finding a way forward.

I have experience working with all genders, and I understand that emotional challenges can show up differently depending on personal, social, and cultural experiences. I genuinely enjoy working with all genders in a  supportive space where clients can explore their feelings, build insight, and develop practical strategies to move forward.

I’m especially passionate about helping people with relationship challenges—whether that’s between partners, family members, or within themselves. I have an interest in attachment theory,  as it can help to make sense of how past experiences shape current patterns, and how you can build healthier connections.

I also have experience working with clients referred through NHS services, particularly those who’ve experienced sexual abuse or trauma in childhood. I understand how deeply trauma can impact someone in adulthood, and I approach this work with sensitivity and respect.

I’m committed to ongoing learning and development (CPD), in line with BACP standards. I’ve completed additional training in many different areas such as relational therapy and suicide ideation. This helps me offer thoughtful and up to date support that’s tailored to each person I work with.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
