About me

Life can be hard and perhaps what you are going through right now feels overwhelming.  I would like to offer you a down-to-earth approach and a welcoming, accepting space to bring difficult feelings, troubled thoughts, sadness or worries.  My role as your counsellor is to make sense of what's going on for you and help you resolve the difficulties you are experiencing.

Perhaps your worries are keeping you up at night or your anxious thoughts seem to be swirling out of control.

Maybe you feel stuck or lost, perpetually low or down.

There may be something in your past which you felt has always held you back, but you finally feel ready to break free.

Or perhaps you just wish you could talk to someone, but you have no-one to really listen, no-one who understands what its like to be you.

I'm passionate about helping my clients; assisting you in uncovering the underlying causes of the problems you face and walking beside you as you overcome your difficulties .  We can work together towards your goals, whatever they are: to heal what needs healing and discover positive, lasting change.

My Integrative & Trauma Informed training allows me to tailor my therapy to meet your individual needs.  Crucially, I will be sharing what I know with you: I believe that understanding what is going on within our Mind and Body allows us to be the Captain of our Ship, not just a passenger.

Most importantly: It's important to feel comfortable with your therapist.  So, if you think my approach might be right for you, please do drop me an email.  We can schedule a free 20 minute call to see if we're a good fit.

Here are some of the challenges I support my clients through:

  • Anxiety, Anxious thoughts, Panic Attacks
  • Stress, Tension & Stress Related Illness
  • Low Mood, Depression, Numbness, Sadness

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
