About me

Are you struggling to cope? Feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, and unfulfilled?

I know it can be so difficult to reach out for help, so well done for getting this far.

I offer a safe space, without judgment, to help you explore your thoughts and feelings.

I offer you my honesty and respect while we explore your emotions and troubles, in a supportive environment, and work towards solutions as and when this feels manageable for you.

Through counselling of an integrative nature, your voice will be heard and valued. I won’t impose goals, but rather provide a compassionate environment and empower you to explore what comes up naturally. I will offer insights, and occasionally encourage you to challenge your viewpoint, in a way that will support your growth.

We can explore family dynamics, relationship problems and work issues in a compassionate environment supporting you through the stage you are at in your life.

Remote counselling sessions are available on both a long term and short-term basis. I am considerate of your individual needs and can offer you fortnightly sessions, as well as weekly.

I am fully insured to work with clients across the UK and Europe.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Initial phone call

Choosing a counsellor that you feel comfortable with and connected to, or who you feel you can work towards this with, is so important. For this reason, I am happy to offer you a free 20-minute phone call to explore together what brings you to counselling, how my approach might suit you and whether you wish to proceed with therapy with me.

First session

In our first session, we will explore your world, your expectations from therapy and any particular areas of your life you would like to focus on.

Some clients like to set goals, others don't, either is fine. We will work at your pace and establish what is comfortable for you.

Moving forward

I usually suggest an initial commitment of 6 sessions, after which we can review our work and decide how to move forward. You may wish to work with me on an open-ended contract, meaning you can stay in therapy for as long as you wish.
