Hello and a warm welcome to my page. I am a UKCP accredited Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist (MA) with over 14 years experience of providing therapy for children, parents, adults and families. I have full professional insurance and an enhanced DBS.
Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of all work I undertake and I hold a warm, safe, containing and accepting space for children, adolescents, parents and adults alike to work on what might be causing difficulty and distress.
With children and adolescents, the work often does not solely rely on words as a way of communicating so in addition to talking therapy I provide creative tools for sand tray, play, art, drama and music making as an additional way of integrating difficult experiences and feelings and finding new ways of being. All therapeutic work is underpinned by a trauma informed and evidence based approach and being integratively trained means that I have a wide range of tools from many schools of therapy that can be used to suit each person uniquely.
I have a wealth of experience of working with a wide variety of presenting issues across all age ranges. These include but are not limited to;
Abuse and neglect
Depression and low mood
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Inner child work
Loss and bereavement
Low self esteem
I offer one to one sessions with children and young people, sessions with parents and children together, sessions with adults and parenting sessions for those who want support in bonding with their child and/or strengthening their resources for the task of parenting. Work can be both long or short term depending on your needs.
Where I provide therapy to children, I also work parents and caregivers in support of their process.
Please do feel free to get in touch should you have any questions or would like to explore us working together.
What to Expect
We will begin with an initial meeting so that we have time to gather a full history and carefully consider key areas of concern. We can then agree the best way forward together, tailored uniquely to you or your child.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and are at the same time and place weekly, for an agreed period of time, and are open to regular review around how things are progressing.
I am currently taking remote referrals.
