About me
Hello and a warm welcome to my practice. I have worked with children, young people, parents and adults for over 17 years, and have gained much expertise in working with a wide and varied range of issues successfully over this period of time. I am registered with UKCP and have full professional insurance and an enhanced DBS.
From time to time, children and young people need a space to work things out that are troubling them. These troubles can often come out through behaviours that are difficult to understand, leaving everyone confused. Other times the troubles are clearer but still need to be worked through with someone who can help.
I place the upmost importance in providing a warm, creative and nurturing relationship, allowing safety for difficulty and distress to be shared and explored. Some children and young people use words alone, while others need to use various modes of play/creativity to express themselves and the troubles they are having. I support children and young people to express themselves through any media that they feel comfortable with, and encourage new understanding of troubles and positive choices and changes that can be made.
I work integratively, meaning I do not have one fixed therapeutic approach. I more have a wide variety of therapeutic tools and offer a tailor made approach to each unique being.
When I work with younger children, I also work closely with parents in support of understanding their process and in thinking about how to support their child through whatever is causing them difficulty.
Sometimes, children want their parent(s) to be present, or to work through something with their parents, and this is something that I facilitate.
Work with Parent or Parents
I offer parenting sessions for those who want support in bonding with their child, understanding their child's behaviour and difficulties, and /or strengthening their resources for the task of parenting.
What to Expect;
I initially meet with you to discuss your concerns and to take your child's history as well as taking into consideration your/your child's hopes and wishes for therapy. During this time we can then agree the best way forward together.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length, are on the same day and time on a weekly basis and are open to regular review.
Please do feel free to get in touch should you have any questions and/or would like to explore us working together. I very much look forward very much to being of service to you.

My career before this was in the medical profession.
I have done and continue to do all kinds of CPD in self awareness, self development, mindfulness training, trauma awareness and energy work, all of which underpins, deepens, expands and refines how I practice.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
