About me
Welcome to my profile. I'm Lucy Williams, an Integrative Counsellor working online and in person in Manchester. With a background in primary education, I bring patience, curiosity and creativity to my therapeutic work with adults. My training and experience has helped many clients navigate and overcome challenges such as; anxiety, depression, work-related stress, trauma, burnout, relationship difficulties, chronic/terminal illness (including cancer), health anxiety and grief. I am also passionate about exploring the bigger questions about what makes us human and how to live with and embrace joy and self-compassion in a demanding world.
Working primarily in a person-centred way with empathy, compassion and acceptance. I am here to listen to you in a non-judgemental, honest and respectful space, a space in which you can be heard and understood. With training in trauma, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and creative techniques, I can offer options of integrating different strategies into counselling sessions to give you practical support alongside space to talk.
We don’t need to be falling apart to look for a supportive space to explore our thoughts, feelings and stories. As human beings, we all want to live purposeful and fulfilling lives and this is unique to each individual. Focusing on collaboration, choice and feedback, we work towards building an open, compassionate and hopeful relationship. A relationship where it feels safe to feel whatever comes up, tackle big questions or take small practical steps towards peace and confidence. I strive to create a space in which the range and diversity of human experience and identity is appreciated, accommodated and celebrated.
Whether you need support with a specific issue or you're not quite sure what feels wrong, I can help. I am able to offer online and in person sessions throughout the day and evenings Monday to Friday. Take that first step by booking a free consultation phone call or send me an email to get a sense of how I work and what I may be able to offer you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
