About me

Are you looking for support for yourself or your child?

I am here to help. My name is Lucia and I work with clients of all ages.

I understand that being able to name the issue or the goal can be challenging. We often don’t know how we feel and this is even more true for children who are learning to navigate their own wellbeing and the world around them. That is why I work with clients’ needs, even unspoken ones, using various techniques from talking to creative approaches, which can help us understand ourselves and overcome challenges whilst building resilience and confidence.

I can help with understanding feelings and behaviour, making sense of past experiences and finding practical tools for coping day to day. I adapt my work depending on age, needs, and preferences, so each child, teen or adult feels supported the way they need.

I specialise in working with anxiety, ADHD, autism, anger, abuse, grief, trauma, depression, childhood issues, family, relationships, neurodiversity, and school related issues. Every client is unique, and each session is tailored specifically to them. When it comes to creative work, I use play therapy techniques such as sand tray, arts and crafts, and more, all adapted to each client’s individual needs and preferences.

Finding the right support for yourself or your child can be difficult, filled with worry and the desire to find the right person who can help. That is why I offer a free, non-obligatory 20-minute consultation to explore how I can support you or your child on your journey and wellbeing. Feel free to send me a message to see how I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an MSc in Psychology and a Level 6 Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Diploma. I work with children, young people and adults, supporting clients with a wide range of issues including ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, neurodiversity, family and relationship difficulties, anger, school issues, parenting issues, domestic violence, health concerns and others.

I have previously worked at primary and secondary schools, as well as organisations including Atrium Clinic, Mind, Shout UK, and Victims First Northumbria.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
