About me

I'm a trauma-informed Integrative Counsellor, Relationship and EMDR therapist offering sessions online and over the telephone.

I have experience working with several organisations including charities, EAP, Mind and the NHS.

I can provide you with a safe, compassionate space to offload and make sense of difficult feelings, thoughts or behavioural patterns you might be noticing in yourself or your relationships.

It might be that you need to feel seen and heard by someone impartial, you might want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself or your significant others through exploring past events and how these might be impacting you in the present or you might have experienced a one-off or a prolonged traumatic experience that you would like to work through.

Through my training and experience I have developed an integrative approach in my practice; I will work with you collaboratively, drawing on theories and offering strategies that will best fit your current concern and you as an individual/couple. I can offer fresh perspectives and strategies to help you make a change in your life and your relationships, leaving you with a sense of control, empowerment and connection with your significant others. I can also offer evidence-based treatment to reprocess trauma.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work with individual adults and couples over video or telephone.

Sessions are generally held at the same time and on the same day weekly or fortnightly but I have some room for flexibility around this where needed.

Our first session will last up to 50 minutes. This is a chance for us to explore how we can best support you and consider whether we are a good fit to work together going forwards. There would be no commitment to continue with sessions following this but if we do decide to work together, we can agree on a set number of sessions or we can work together on an open-ended basis. I will check-in with you at regular intervals to ensure you are getting what you need from the sessions.
