About me

Hello and welcome,

I am a qualified person-centred therapist, this means we will work together to provide a safe, trusting and non-judgmental environment where we can explore issues in your life which are important to you. Creating a therapeutic relationship, I will support you with your own sense of being.

My personal life experiences and struggles have led me to be a naturally warm, compassionate and a empathic person.

It was my own past difficulties that brought me into the world of counselling, it has become very much my passion to accompany others through their journey, to help reach recovery, wellbeing and personal growth.

I currently work for a counselling charity in Leicestershire where I offer online and telephone services.  I have also worked for an agency in Nottingham where I have offered face to face and online counselling.  This has given me experience in the following areas: Anxiety, social anxiety, depression, addiction, low self-esteem, stress, work related stress, borderline personality disorder, sex problems, self-harm, separation anxiety, suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, eating disorders and relationship breakdown,

I am an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, meaning you can trust that I will work ethically and safely with you.

I am fully insured; have DBS clearance and I attend regular and on-going supervision in accordance with professional requirements and to ensure that I am working with you to the very best of my ability.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
