About me
A warm welcome. It’s natural to feel unsure about starting therapy. Sharing personal thoughts and feelings can feel like a big step. To reassure you, I offer a calm, safe, supportive space where we explore what matters to you at your pace, to build trust and check in regularly so your needs are met.
I work with adults seeking personal therapy, offering face-to-face sessions in Belper and Matlock, Derbyshire. I also offer telephone and online counselling.
I live with my family and three dogs, and love spending time walking and exploring the Peak District.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
The first session is assessment-based, and this is to discuss the issues you wish to bring to counselling, as well as to understand your expectations and goals. I can answer any questions you may have and go through the counselling agreement, which includes information on privacy, confidentiality and details of my ethical frameworks. At the end of the assessment, we decide together whether to make a regular counselling appointment.
My fee is £50 for a one-hour session. I accept cash at the time of appointment or bank transfer. A cancellation policy is in place.
I have availability for day, evening and Saturday morning appointments.

Further information
I work integratively, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, and developmental approaches to help you understand yourself, your relationships, and how you connect with both. As everyone’s story is unique, I tailor therapy to your individual needs. Together, exploring what’s happening now and how earlier experiences may still be shaping how you feel and relate today. I support you in developing greater self-understanding, acceptance, and in bringing meaningful change.
