About me
I believe that having a therapeutic approach rooted in empathy, respect and collaboration are the crucial qualities that a counselling service can provide and are at the heart of my practice. Providing a supportive space that helps you gain a better understanding of yourself will give you the tools to develop coping skills and resilience needed to heal. If you’re ready to start, then I’m here to listen and support you find your path forward.
With most things in life taking the first step towards getting help is often the hardest and finding the right match when looking for professional help can seem overwhelming. By reading this profile you’re already taking the first step in your journey which gives you an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of yourself.
Throughout my journey to becoming a qualified and registered BACP professional I have gained experience by working with an Integrative approach, which I believe is essential for me to offer the right support for your potentially changing needs. I can support you with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, stress & everyday challenges that can occur at work or in your relationships. Throughout my time as a counsellor, I have also gained in-depth knowledge and understanding of working with clients who have experienced trauma, including physical, emotional & sexual abuse either in childhood or as an adult.
I will offer you a safe place for us to open the boxes you may have built for yourself as it’s so often the case to store painful or difficult memories and feelings away – that’s my mission, to provide a safe and nurturing environment for you to explore your past, present and future feelings.
I also recognise that everyone is different and so look to provide in person, online and a blend of both to make sure that we can tailor the sessions to set you up for success. The online sessions help give you flexibility in what can already feel like a big step to take.
When we first connect the key aim is for us to agree on what ‘better’ would look like for you and how you’d like things to change.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

When working with clients who have experienced trauma such as physical, emotional & sexual abuse either in childhood or as an adult, it is my priority to ensure that you first feel safe & comfortable both physically and emotionally.
