About me

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert of your own life. I work collaboratively with you to identify your goals, strengths, and areas for growth. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-exploration, empowering you to make positive changes and live a more fulfilling life.

Today, I stand proud as a qualified counselor but my path has been marked by personal struggles with anxiety that have profoundly shaped my journey.

As someone who has battled anxiety firsthand, I bring a unique perspective and profound empathy to my counseling practice, understanding intimately the challenges and victories involved in managing anxiety.

Whether you're grappling with panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, social anxiety, or any other manifestations of anxiety, I'm here to support you. I offer not only professional knowledge but also personal experience and understanding of what it means to overcome anxiety's hurdles.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor, I am a member of the BACP which means that I work under their ethical framework to ensure best practice.

I am also qualified in Social Work.

I am able to work with people from different age groups or backgrounds due to my experience. Not only my most recent experience but also past experience from when I was in Spain and worked as a Social Worker with both Children and Adults from different backgrounds that were at risk of social exclusion because of being considered a minority, for example, working with gypsy people where my role was to make them feel included within the community through activities and workshops.

I currently work for a mental health charity as an Assessor for our 1:1 Counselling and Coaching Service, for both Young People’s team (12 to 25 years old) and the Adults team (+18 years old).

My role as an assessor is to undertake initial assessments in order to evaluate possible risks, like self-harm, suicide, home safety, addiction or police involvement; as well as to provide the required support by referring the client to the correct service according to their presenting issues, if counselling or coaching is not what the client needs at that particular time.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
