About me

Feeling stuck, anxious or low in mood? Or all of the above? Life is busy and stressful and we live in an ever changing society that can feel loud and too much. It can feel like the world is against us at times and we want to be able to catch a breath and find away forward.

Life can throw us unexpected challenges that sometimes we find too much to process it and work through it on our own. I offer a kind, non judgemental space to explore the things in therapy.

I am an integrative therapist. Which means I can draw on several therapeutic approaches to best help you on your therapeutic journey. This also includes creative therapies that sometimes may feel more comfortable than talking. This includes drawing, writing and using objects to depict stories and emotions. I  also offer walk and talk therapy in the local area.

I can be flexible with session times and work evenings. If you have any questions at all please send me a message or and email and I will get back to you within a day. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in Counselling from the University of Northampton.

I completed my placement working with clients on the Autism spectrum and also with clients with ADHD. I am a person with a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. Though just because I have the training and experience, you are the expert in your life and how you feel. We all experience our neurodiversity differently. I would really like to get to know about you and how you experience the world.

I am a registered member of the BACP (Registration number 404607). I have a full enhanced DBS, ICO (ZB617154) membership and I am fully insured.

I am currently studying a PhD in Psychology at the University of Worcester focussing on peoples experience of Erotic transference and countertransference in therapy. I also offer support to clients and other therapists that have experience harm in previous therapeutic relationships.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I also welcome working with clients that have previously been harmed in therapy and would like a space to explore their experience that they may have felt previously unable to discuss.

This is a sensitive topic that is not often discussed. Through my experiences and training I can offer a non judgemental and supportive space.

Additional information

Each session lasts for 60 minutes. Though if you would like shorter or longer sessions then please let me know and this can be something we arrange.

I can support in one off sessions or short term therapy (6-8 sessions) or long term sessions. I offer regular reviews in therapy, every 6 sessions to check in and see how you think it is going. It can also be good to check on the therapy so far and I always welcome feedback. The purpose of our therapy is to explore your challenges at your pace.

I offer a 15 minute online consultation in order for you to ask any questions and to see if you would like to work with me.

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel 24 hours prior to the session the cost of the session will be moved to the following session. If the session is cancelled within the 24 hours the cost of the session is still payable unless there are exceptional circumstances.
