About me
Hello and welcome. Together, we can navigate challenges and discover effective strategies for managing emotions and handling life’s demands.
Males face unique mental, emotional, and biological challenges that are shaped by their biology, upbringing, culture, and societal expectations.
Although I work with all genders and identities, my postgraduate (after my initial four years of practical and academic training) studies in male-centred therapy, male psychology, biological insights into masculinity, male mental health, and suicide prevention inform my practice with complete empathy for male psychological concerns
With extensive experience supporting people through challenges such as, but not limited to, supporting student counsellors, depression, GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) anger, ADHD, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, stress, conflict, discrimination, relationship difficulties, custody battle anxiety, pornography addiction, engaging with sex-workers, affairs, male & female survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, grief, sexuality, corporate burnout, parental alienation, teenage fathers and false allegations.
My support is grounded in empathy, understanding, compassion, respect, and a deep commitment to your journey toward healing and growth.
Why Male-Centred Therapy & Male Psychology?
Male-centred therapy differs by focusing specifically on the way many men communicate, process emotion, and experience stress, identity, relationships, and self-worth. Rather than expecting clients to immediately talk openly about feelings, the approach often uses a more direct, grounded, and practical style that many men find easier to engage with. While tailored to male experiences and psychology, it still incorporates evidence-based therapies such as CBT, person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and other clinically recognised approaches.
After qualifying as a therapist, I chose to specialise in male-centred therapy, completing postgraduate training in male psychology at the Centre for Male Psychology, which is endorsed by the British Psychological Society. A combination of personal drive, clinical experience, and my own experience of loss shaped this direction.
Equipping me to support males with greater empathy, insight, and practical strategies tailored to their unique needs. While respecting each person’s individual identity, experiences, unique childhood experiences, race, sexuality, culture, and early childhood introjected values,
My personal and professional experiences have highlighted the clear and growing need for better mental health support for boys and men. Through working extensively with male clients, I have developed both a practical and academic understanding of the psychological challenges many men face, including issues around stigma, expectations, and discrimination.
I have experience supporting men from a range of demanding professions, including the military, police, paramedics, prison officers, surgeons, construction workers, airline pilots, and HGV drivers. This has given me insight into the unique pressures, responsibilities, and experiences that can affect men’s mental health, and the importance of providing counselling that is understanding, speaks men's language, practical, and relevant to their lives.
I noticed a concerning pattern through my studies: research shows that 91% of middle-aged men who died by suicide had sought help from various professional services beforehand. Something was still missing in the support that males received, needed, and deserved.
- I have supported many female and trans clients, who have also benefited from my experience and training (Advanced GSRD - Gender, Sexual Relationships, and Diversity trained)
This led me to focus on male psychology, male depression, and male suicide, recognising that men often express emotions and distress differently. Only 36% of men seek help, and many do so late in life, sometimes just months before attempting suicide. I was also motivated by the growing educational disparities among boys.
This compassionate understanding and concern led me to establish Mind2Man Counselling Services & Directory and the National Male Domestic Abuse Information Service. I also provide male-centred therapy training to counselling students, alongside my work with males, drawing on professional training and my personal experience of loss.
My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, meaning I use more than one therapeutic modality to suit each person's unique sense of self. I am a person-centred therapist at the core. Still, I blend in psychodynamic, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy (SFBT), as one therapeutic approach can not fit or suit unique life experiences, genders, cultures, race, sexualities, and different perspectives.
I will work with you to unearth your subconscious actions, thoughts, and behaviours.
I'm also a qualified member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), as verified by Psychology Today.

I have been having counselling with Kevin for 8 months now and have just completed my last session today.
I would like to add that Kevin is my third therapist, but my first male one.
I wasn’t sure if I would open up to him at the start, with being the same sex; however, I quickly realised that I was saying a lot more than my previous female therapists.
I have had trust issues all my life, yet I felt at ease talking about my problems.
Kevin made me feel comfortable in my environment, which enabled me to discuss my insecurities,s which have plagued me my whole life''

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have experience supporting people with Klinefelter Syndrome and Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (CAIS), helping them make sense of the emotional, physical, and identity-related challenges that can come with these diagnoses.
I also support people who are struggling with Problematic Pornography Use (PPU), especially when it starts to impact relationships, self-esteem, or brings up a lot of shame and guilt.
My approach is LGBTQ-affirming, and I care deeply about creating space for people to explore their identity, relationships, and desires without judgment. I often work with people who are navigating questions around testosterone, masculinity, and the pressure to fit into certain roles, helping them unpack those experiences and reconnect with a sense of self that feels true and grounded.
