About me

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who has been accredited by the BACP. I work with individuals aged 16 and over with anxiety, depression, and low self esteem. I also help individuals who are struggling with relationships in their lives, whether this is with a partner or family issues. I also work with couples.

I have a special interest in neurodivergence including dyspraxia, dyslexia, Asperger's, ADHD and ASD. I aim to help people understand themselves better and to cope with any difficult feelings and social situations.

Having trained and worked at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, I am also experienced in supporting people with grief, loss and bereavement.

How Will Counselling Help?

I believe that we all have the capacity for change and that we can learn to support ourselves better with a deeper understanding of our experiences and the appropriate tools and strategies.

I will be alongside you, not as a friend or family member, but to listen objectively, to support and empower you find your own way forward and to help you work towards any desired change.

Below are some other ways that counselling may help you.

  • A supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
  • Developing communication skills to improve relationships
  • To be listened to without judgement
  • A better understanding of yourself and those around you
  • Empowering you to find your own solutions
  • A safe outlet for expressing any emotions

What Can I Expect From My First Session?

Following on from our introductory call, we will arrange a mutually convenient time to meet.

The first session might involve a gentle exploration of what has brought you to counselling; you might also like to share a goal to work towards.

Your weekly session lasts for 50 minutes and we may meet at the same time each week . You have the reassurance that we talk about together is confidential; I will explain any exceptions to this.

Availability and location.

I currently have availability for individuals/couples in my tranquil room in central Farnham, or online.

If you would like to take the next step with me, just call or message to make that happen.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
