About me

Hi, my name is June, thank you for your interest in my profile, please let me introduce myself:

I am a qualified counselling practitioner for adults, children and young people. I work integratively, meaning that I bring in other theoretical methods, to suit your needs as a client in sessions. These include mainly Person-Centred, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), TA (Transactional Analysis) and Solution-Focused Therapy. Along with creative interventions for children and young people. I also find it can be useful to bring psychoeducation into our work. This can give an understanding of what might be going on, to help facilitate the changes you are wanting to make.

I have trained in and have an interest in couples/relationship counselling.

I will offer a safe, friendly and confidential space for you to experience and express what you need to, without judgement and with empathy. I will work collaboratively with you to support your needs from counselling, whether it is for you to reach your goals, to be seen and heard, and anything else in between. I can support you to navigate through your feelings of loss and grief, low mood and anxiety, feeling stuck, low self-worth, conflict, trauma and low self-esteem as an individual or together as a couple to process and find solutions, peace and sense of empowerment for the changes you want to make.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
