About me

Welcome to my profile, I am here to help, perhaps you are suffering with  anxiety, depression or you may be feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of life?  I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist working from a person-centred base and offering integrative talking therapy, this is based on the premise that it is the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client that is key to successful therapy, my clients have said they feel heard, validated and able to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe confidential space.

I believe that each person is an individual and therefore, together we can find the best approach for you.  Some people want to share their thoughts and feelings and may be dealing with  relationship problems, it may be childhood trauma and coming to terms with this is keeping you stuck, therapy can help you understand how you can approach dealing with your past and also help you shape your future.

I have assisted clients with a wide range of issues such as feeling anxious, coping with stress and depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, abuse, low self-worth, feeling sad, eating problems, stress, bereavement and grief, trust, anger, bullying to name a few, there are many reasons that people seek therapy,  I am happy to have a chat to explore your personal needs and tailor therapy to suit you.

I have worked with clients who wanting to explore a ADHD or Autism  diagnosis, helping to explore how this impacts their lives, sometimes having some understanding and compassion for self can help.  Others seek counselling when they simply need someone to talk and to be heard.

I work with adults over 18 and can offer daytime and early evening appointments on. a Wednesday from my Ilkley therapy rooms and some flexibility in my Leeds16 practice.

I also have experience of supporting women through the menopause which can be a difficult time both physically and psychologically and such a challenging time.

Please call me and we can have a chat about your personal circumstances, an initial session could be that step to making changes in your life.

I am easily accessible for clients living in Ilkley, Burley-in-Wharfedale, Menston, Guiseley, Bradford and surrounding areas. In my Leeds16 clinic , Adel, Cookridge, Horsforth, Headingley are easily accessible.

Thank you for viewing my profile, taking the first step isn't always easy, feel free to make contact and we can arrange a suitable time to talk and if you feel we can work together we can arrange a face to face or on-line session to suit you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I support women in dealing with the menopause, many women feel unable to talk about their feelings and emotions during this time. My MA in counselling is based around women and the menopause and how therapy can help. Clients have said they feel validated and supported during this time of life change.
